Olaplex is life! It is a necessity for blondes, people with fragile hair, or those who like to change their hair color often. Olaplex was developed by Dr. Eric Pressly and Dr. Craig Hawker, two of the world's leading chemists. This dream team invented a single ingredient chemistry, that is free of silicones and oils. Olaplex links broken bonds in the hair before, during, and after chemical services.
Olaplex can be used in different ways. The first two that I am sharing with you are in-salon treatments that include Olaplex's concentrated formulas No.1 Bond Multiplier and No.2 Bond Perfector (only available to licensed professionals). The last two bullets are about the products pictured above, and are available to you for in-home use.
1. A stand alone treatment: The concentrated formulas No.1 and No.2 are applied to damp hair,to strengthen and repair broken bonds. It is then shampooed out and followed with conditioner. It is recommended that you use the No.3 Perfector at home to maintain your results. This service does not have to be combined with another service.
2. Additive: This is my favorite! Olaplex No.1 is added to hair color or lightener to prevent the bonds from breaking. Then once the color is done processing, No.2 is applied at the bowl to help repair bonds. I love this so much because it is always easier to prevent damage than it is to fix it. It is recommended that you take home the No.3 Perfector to maintain results and prevent breakage.
3. No.3 Hair Perfector: The No.3 is a less concentrated form of the No.2, making it safe for at home use. No.3 is applied on damp hair for 10 minutes and is shampooed out followed by a conditioner. It is important to shampoo it out of the hair as with any strengthening treatment over use can lead to brittleness.
4. No.4 and No.5: The Shampoo and Conditioner contain small amounts of Olaplex's patented magic. They both contain more moisture than treatments 1-3. Which is great because healthy hair is a good balance of moisture and strength!
